Library Cards
Library cards can be obtained in person at the Ruth Culver Community Library. Your first card is free. There is $1 fee to replace lost cards. A library card application (pdf) can be printed online or obtained at the library. A Spanish library card application en Español (pdf) is also available. The following are required in order to get a library card.
- A photo ID (driver's license, state ID card)
- Proof of your current address (driver's license, checkbook, state license, utility bill, or recent piece of mail with your current address printed on it)
- A parent signature for individuals under 14 years of age
Your card will be valid at any South Central library.
Please contact the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen or your address, telephone number or e-mail address changes.
Community Room
The library has a Community Meeting Room located off the front lobby. When not required for library use, the room is available for reservations by community and other not-for-profit groups and local businesses for programs of an informational, educational, cultural or civic nature. More information is available on the Community Room page.
Computers & Equipment
The library has computers available for customer use. Lower level computers are available for those 18 years of age and older and are intended for quiet use. Those needing to talk quietly should use the computers available on the first floor. Find out more about computers and other equipment available for public use on the Computers & Equipment page.
Teacher/Daycare Requests
The library staff will pull or place holds on materials for use by teachers in schools and daycares. Complete the Teacher/Daycare Requests form to submit your request online. For requests that need to be filled immediately, please contact the library by phone (643-8318) to make sure your request can be fulfilled.
Outer Library Loan Requests
If an item is not available in LINKcat, we may be able to obtain it from a library outside of the South Central Library System. To request an item not available in LINKcat, please see the OLL Request page or contact the Ruth Culver Community Library at 643-8318.
Little Free Snack Shop
Located in our Teen Area, the Little Free Snack Shop is available to anyone using the library who needs a snack or something to take with them. This project was started due to an increase need observed and through a partnership with No Child Goes Hungry. Library staff maintain the stocking of the cabinet and we partner with the local food pantry to help keep a variety of options available. If you'd like to donate to this effort, we have an Amazon Wish List with our most needed items. Financial contributions are also accepted.
Puzzle Swap
We have a Puzzle Swap collection located on the lower level. Feel free to grab a puzzle to take home and complete. Donations of puzzles are also accepted, but not required to take a puzzle (please see the guidelines posted with the collection).
